2022-2023 Assessment and Accountability Update
Anderson County Schools invites our community to inspect the following 2022-2023 Assessment and Accountability Update information.  The information provided is intended to increase awareness of our accountability model, highlight opportunities for growth, and to accentuate our successes.  Thank you for your time and partnership as we continue to strengthen our education system together. 

Bright Spots from 2022-2023

  • ACS outperformed the state in 11 out of 15 tested areas by school level

  • ACS combined elementary performance ranked in the top 19.8% of KY

    • RBT scored in the top 9% of all KY elementary schools

    • EBW scored in the top 20.7% of all KY elementary schools

    • SSE scored in the top 35% of all KY elementary schools

  • ACMS scored in the top 52.5% of all KY middle schools

  • ACHS scored in the top 30.7% of all KY high schools

  • RBT achieved an overall performance  rating of blue

  • EBW achieved an overall performance rating of green

  • Green indicator rating in Reading/Math:  EBW & ACHS

  • Blue indicator rating in Reading/Math:  RBT

  • Green indicator rating in Science/Social Studies/Writing:  SSE & ACHS

  • Blue indicator rating in Science/Social Studies/Writing:  EBW & RBT

  • Green indicator rating on QSCS Survey:  EBW, RBT & ACHS

  • Green indicator ratings in Postsecondary Readiness & Graduation Rate:  ACHS

  • ACMS no longer has TSI federal classification; no schools in ACS are classified as CSI/TSI/ATSI

  • ACMS is 0.6 points in overall score from a yellow rating

  • ACHS is 0.1 points in overall score from a green rating (yet scored green in every indicator…)

  • Average ACT composite score increased by one full point (18.5→19.5); outperformed state by 0.8 points

  • ACHS recognized by U.S. News & World Report (ranked #1 in Frankfort, KY Metro Area High Schools; ranked #35 in KY High Schools) based on their performance on state-required tests, graduation, and how well they prepare students for college.


Focus Areas for Continuous Improvement
  • Maximize proficiency in each content area (R, M, Sc, SS, CW)

    • Increase number of proficient/distinguished

    • Decrease number of novice and apprentice

    • Improve Middle School Assessment Results in multiple content areas (R, M, SS, CW)

    • Improve SSE Assessment Results in Reading & Mathematics

  • Improve QSCS Survey outcomes at SSE, ACMS, & ACHS

  • Close achievement gaps

    • Increase performance of lower performing subgroups across all schools

  • Focus on enhancing opportunities for all students to actively engage in authentic learning experiences across all content areas

  • Focus on improving high school post-secondary readiness
