Dear Emma B. Ward Families,

On behalf of the entire staff at Emma B. Ward Elementary School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2021-22 school year!  Whether you are a returning family or new to Emma B. Ward, we are thrilled you will be with us!  I feel privileged to begin my fourth year as the principal at Emma B. Ward.   You may notice a name change; I was married in the spring of 2021!

We recognize that in order to be successful in school, children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for the success of all students and want you to know that we will work diligently to carry out our responsibilities.   Our mission at Emma B. Ward is to:
  • Foster positive relationships

  • Obtain skills to learn and grow

  • Respect ourselves, school, and others

  • Work toward common goals

  • Achieve our personal best

  • Recognize our successes

  • Dedicate ourselves to life-long learning

We will host a Back-to-School Open House on Monday, August 9th from 4:00-7:00.  Stop by at your convenience to visit your classroom, meet your teachers and staff, and learn about the Emma B. Ward community.

I believe communication is a vital component of a successful school year.  We share information about campus-wide events and announcements on Class Dojo and our Emma B. Ward Facebook page.  We also send reminders and announcements via text and email on our One Call system.  Your teacher will communicate with you via email and Class Dojo.

The Emma B. Ward staff and I feel privileged to be a part of your school family. We thank you for your support and look forward to seeing you in August.
